Enjoying the View

The little stars dance through the night
To the moon’s melody,
But when the sun begins to rise
They are nowhere to see.

I’ve heard them mock me in the night
For missing their party,
But I’ve noticed they’re not around
To share dawn’s melody.

I guess we each have our own path,
Theirs is across the sky,
While mine is down here on the earth
Watching as they dance by.

I may not get to dance all night,
But I love what I do.
Then, when I’m done, I watch the sky
And just enjoy the view.

On Wings of Golden Light

In the quiet of the evening
Hides the first whisper of night.
Rising up into the darkness
On the wings of golden light,
That whisper becomes a chorus
Born of heavenly delight.
