A Synthesis of Narcissus and Sulfur

Of all the wonderful things I found at Hot Lake, my favorite is all the beautiful flowers, but since the lake is over 200 degrees...

and the sulfer steams even on a warm day...

The miracle of the narcissus blooming at the edge of the lake is just a pure blessing.
The steam rises
It spills across the bright blooms of the narcissus

and flows out of the water wheel
and onto the shore

The Ceaseless Road

I crave the silence of the night
The hush of moon and stars
Time spent in silence, dark and still,
Instead of passing cars

I long to feel the night slip in
And wrap me in its peace.
But there is just no end in sight;
The highway does not cease.

The way is long, I can’t turn back,
Ahead lie miles and tears.
I long for darkness and the night
And rest from all these fears,

Musings During a Conference

Okay, just during the last half which was filled with political speechifying!

Sunshine splashing up the shore
Breezes dancing on the sand
Seabirds twirling as they sing
Of seas that spill on distant land

Secrets whispered among friends
Silky limbs, all breeze entwined,
Shadows shift in filtered light
A shoreline paradise defined.

Asked to visualize the perfect place...
DUH, The Hoh Rainforest on the Pacific Coast.

The tiny stars blink in the light
Of the rising moon;
Play hide and seek around the clouds
With a lonely loon.
Then run away before the dawn
Turns to audacious noon!

Blow ye winds of winter time
Blow the night away
Hush the wailing of the cold
Within the sparkling day

Blow ye winds of bright spring time
Blow the blossoms down
A fragrant carpet, sweet and light,
On the warming ground

Blow ye winds of summer time
Blow the fresh mown hay
Toss the seeds of sunny dreams
Through the long, rich day

Blow ye winds of autumn time
Blow the leaves so bright
Scatter them across the world
Colorful delight.

Saturday Evening in Spring

Red wine, blue jays and old country music
The peace of a Spring Saturday
Appointments, commitments; all done and through,
It’s all mine, the rest of the day.

There’s nuts on the rail for the busy blue jays
And new buds on the lilac tree.
There’s no need to rush and get dinner made
Cause Patsy Cline’s singing for me.

There's no one around to shatter the peace
It’s just me and that hungry jay,
A glass of red wine, old country music
And the last of my Saturday.

Cold, Cloudy Night

Dark night, cold, crisp and silent.
Bright stars, packed in clouds of cotton
And stored away ‘til summer,
When winter is forgotten.

Tea Party Signs

These are the bulk of the wonderful signs that I was able to photograph. There are still many others, but I didn't get good angles or clear shots of them. The word is that we had 5000+ in attendance at the event! Even the main stream media in this far left town on the far left coast isn't trying to down play the size of this turnout!!

Oh... and I forgot to mention... as I was leaving the rally I saw the perfect bumper sticker. It said, "Don't blame me, I voted for Sarah Palin"!!!!

From the Real Washington to the Surreal Washington....
Can you hear us now?!!!!
