Look Who Got Caught
He got snagged up in the tree out front when he was hanging around trying to peek in the upstairs windows!

Aging with Grace
Thus as she felt her beauty fade,
The tulip made of sunlight,
Rejoiced that in her humble bed
A fiery bulb bloomed bright.
A bulb so new that when she fell,
Abandoning all delight,
The bed would gleam still with the blaze
Of its ethereal light.

Haunted Night
The night’s so dark, I feel its breath
Tingling down my neck;
The rain is sliding down my pane
And pooling on the deck.
I hear soft voices whispering
Behind each closed, locked door…
I think they’re trying to get in,
But I want out much more.

The Vanity of the Sun
As Sol rose up to touch the sea
He lingered near the shore
He bent to see how brilliantly
He shone, and to adore
His face reflected in the sea,
Then he moved up on shore.
For as Narcissus used to be,
Sol’s vanity is lore,
And he insists that he must see
His face reflected more.
Thus even drops, small as can be,
Reflect small Sols galore.
