Autumn dropped by my street this week
I fear the summer’s gone
The wind is rattling the eaves,
Singing an eerie song.
The clouds are scuttling cross the moon,
The stars won’t show their face,
While brokenhearted leaves rip loose
And scatter round the place.
There’s something in the autumn mist
That fills my heart with dread
I feel the need to snuggle down
And spend the day in bed.
But I have things I need to do,
And places I must go,
So I will brave the wet and wild…
Thank God it isn’t snow!!!!
