Musings During a Conference

Okay, just during the last half which was filled with political speechifying!

Sunshine splashing up the shore
Breezes dancing on the sand
Seabirds twirling as they sing
Of seas that spill on distant land

Secrets whispered among friends
Silky limbs, all breeze entwined,
Shadows shift in filtered light
A shoreline paradise defined.

Asked to visualize the perfect place...
DUH, The Hoh Rainforest on the Pacific Coast.

The tiny stars blink in the light
Of the rising moon;
Play hide and seek around the clouds
With a lonely loon.
Then run away before the dawn
Turns to audacious noon!

Blow ye winds of winter time
Blow the night away
Hush the wailing of the cold
Within the sparkling day

Blow ye winds of bright spring time
Blow the blossoms down
A fragrant carpet, sweet and light,
On the warming ground

Blow ye winds of summer time
Blow the fresh mown hay
Toss the seeds of sunny dreams
Through the long, rich day

Blow ye winds of autumn time
Blow the leaves so bright
Scatter them across the world
Colorful delight.
