The Wee Knight

The little knight
He had a fight
That he had to face.
He girded on
His armor strong.
His helmet in its place.

His sword so true
Our brave knight drew
And strode to meet the foe.
A dragon fierce,
With fangs that pierce,
Could lay a brave knight low.

With shining face
And steely grace
He faced the wicked beast.
His fearsome blade
A whooshing made.
The dragon’s roaring ceased.

It hung its head
And sniffed and said,
“Oh little knight so stout.”
You are so brave
That in my cave
I’ll hide and not come out!”

“Do Not Come Back!
A Mighty Whack
Will leave you dead and cold,”
The wee knight said
As the dragon fled.
Or so the story’s told.

The little knight
Had won the fight.
He beat the scary menace.
For it’s so true,
What the wee knight knew…
We all have courage in us.
And we can win
If we begin
And see it to the finish.
